Private Lessons

Private lessons are available throughout Buffalo, Amherst, Tonawanda, North Tonawanda, and the Western New York area for any age dog, from puppy to senior. They are a great option if your dog is nervous or reactive in group classes, if you prefer personalized support, or if you are working through specific behavior issues.

Common topics include leash reactivity, pulling on walks, door manners, fearful behavior, visitor greetings, resource guarding, territorial issues, and fighting between dogs in the same household, to name a few. For info about more serious behavior concerns, visit the Behavior Modification page.

All new, private lesson clients begin with an Initial Consultation (in person or virtual). During this session, we’ll review your dog’s history, routine, and training goals, and create a custom plan. You’ll receive notes, handouts, and homework by email after. Follow up sessions can be scheduled to continue your dog’s progress.

Virtual Lessons:

Not in the Buffalo area? No problem! Virtual lessons are a great option if you live outside of WNY, prefer not to travel, or feel more comfortable working from home.

Virtual training saves time, reduces stress, and offers flexible scheduling - including late evening sessions. It’s especially helpful for dogs who are anxious or uncomfortable with strangers in their home.

These sessions focus on teaching YOU how to train your dog, which leads to strong, longer lasting results. Since I’m not physically handling your dog, you’ll learn to communicate more effectively - building a better bond in the process.

Virtual training is also more cost-effective, with no travel fees and more available time slots. I use video examples, demonstrate with my own dogs, and tailor your training plan based on your dog’s behavior and history.

Many clients choose to start virtually and transition to in-person later - especially those in remote areas. If you’re wondering if it’s a good fit, reach out and let’s talk!

What to Expect

Visit the Contact page to schedule an initial consultation (this is required for every new client choosing private lessons) or to contact me to ask questions!

Once an Initial Consultation is scheduled, I will send you a link to confirm your appointment as well as complete some intake forms and pay a deposit. Please read the polices included in the registration.

During the first appointment we will go over all of your goals, I will obtain a detailed history, and establish a training plan, which also includes management plans and enrichment activities. You will receive notes from the session and any relevant handouts via email within 3-4 days after the first session.

Expect your initial session to be about an hour and a half, and follow up sessions to be 45 to 50 minutes.
